What we're looking for:

The Field Architect (FA) provides technical leadership for internal and customer-facing projects of large size or high degree of complexity. This role is primarily focused on post-sales Architect project delivery of large key projects while providing significant knowledge transfer to more junior team members and customers. The Architect is a very experienced technical professional capable of solving the most complex technical problems, communicating technical concepts to audiences with mixed levels of technical abilities, and making sound technical and architectural decisions independently   


Excellent communication skills and experience working in a professional services delivery capacity are vital. Broad industry knowledge and certifications in complementary skills and technologies are assumed. The Architect must thrive in a highly collaborative workplace and actively engage in the development of processes and improvement within the delivery team.  



 Primary Duties / Responsibilities 

The primary duties for the position include but are not limited to: 

  • Plans and leads all technical aspects of major projects. Effectively multi-tasks across multiple initiatives/projects to provide a high speed of delivery. 

  • Acts as the primary technical interface for the client or project manager for large high complexity projects.  

  • Takes an active role in business development of net-new or follow on engagements. 

  • Takes full responsibility for overall execution and delivery of critical tasks or projects, primarily as oversight capacity and to a less extend through direct execution (i.e. assess/design phase owners of complex projects). 

  • Provides quality assurance reviews and project oversight to consultant lead engagements. 

  • Provides technical “thought leadership” to the entire Citrix Consulting team. Leads, plans and designs technical solutions that meet, or exceed, customer requirements and expectations. 

  • Provides subject matter expertise (technical depth) in at least one technical area. 

  • Takes an active role in creating business improvements that would allow the consulting team to deliver at better quality and efficiency e.g. documentation templates, reference labs, best practice guides, automation initiatives etc. 

  • Encourages others to do things differently, push the boundaries, and experiment outside their comfort zones. 

  • Proactively seeks to effectively coach and mentor; regarded and sought by more junior staff as a coach and mentor  

  • Providing technical training to the field 


Experience (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities) 

  • Extensive track record implementing large, complex enterprise-class solutions using Citrix technologies. 

  • Strong command of professional communication skills (written, oral). 

  • Positive attitude aimed at customer success 

  • Proven ability to confidently host and run strategy or architecture focused customer workshops 

  • Excellent personal time management including ability to efficiently multitask across several projects & initiatives 

  • Proven ability to meet deadlines and creating deliverables that exceed expectations. 

  • Extensive experience in delivery of relevant technical collateral (design documents, white papers, knowledge base, etc.). 

  • Exhibits sound business judgement, and ability to influence others 

  • Ability to summarize complex technical situations into concise executive briefings. 

  • Proven expertise architecting large, complex enterprise-class solutions using Citrix technologies. 

  • Proven expertise in complex, client-focused consultative selling and establishing trusted advisor status 

  • Strong technical background with a willingness to learn new technologies. 

Qualifications (Education, Certification, Training) 

  • Current Citrix or 3rd party Certifications that demonstrate technical knowledge 

  • Certifications in non-technical areas such as Project Management & Governance are beneficial 


Regardless of specific certifications, the individual should be able to demonstrate 

  • Strong technical breadth across Citrix Virtualization, Networking, Cloud and Mobility products/technologies. 

  • Strong technical depth in at least one of the above technology areas 

  • Strong technical background with a willingness to learn new technologies. 


Physical Demands / Work Environment 

The Field Architect is directly mapped to a specific region or area but may also provide coverage for other regions or areas within the Geo. 

This role allows for working from home, however; travel is required either to Customer sites or Citrix Offices and can be as high as 80%.
