What we're looking for:

We're looking for a Team Lead for our Data Engineering Team to organize reliable and scalable cloud infrastructure, help in designing and maintaining clean & discoverable data sources, improve delivery processes, act as a Data Product owner for your team and lead the development of Data Management Framework for the whole Wrike. Currently we consider shifting to Data Mesh and your expertise & leadership will be in a high demand.
We're now migrating from Spark/HDFS/Jenkins to Airflow in GKE and our core stack is Python, SQL, Airflow, GCP (BigQuery, DataFlow, etc), Kafka etc. You will lead a team of 4 experienced Data Engineers and your primary stakeholders will be Product and Customer Success Analysts and other DataEng teams.

  • Data Platform Development
  • Design, develop and monitor high-quality data warehouse elements
  • Improve Data Discovery by crafting a "Single Source of Truth" data sources
  • Work towards further Data Quality improvement (extending monitoring, alerting, validations & anomaly detection)
  • Act as a Tech Leader while designing the new tech solutions
  • Align 4 DataEng teams on common tech stack, processes and Data Management Framework
  • Make sure that process around data infrastructure are running smoothly
  • Apply emerging trends on the data organisation, processing, analysis techniques and data usage across our company
  • Product Data Engineering
  • Collect & analyze stakeholders' requirements
  • Help Product & Customer Success Analysts to discover data with minimal efforts
  • Help Stakeholders by creating & maintaining of the reliable data assets
  • Convert Data Assets to Data Products (design clear guarantees to stakeholders)
  • Team Lead
  • Act as a Product Owner for Data Products of your Team
  • Coordinate & prioritise work of your team, craft & deliver quarterly OKRs
  • Coordinate team activities with Frontend, Backend and other teams
  • Improve team value-delivery processes
  • Motivate and help your team-mates to grow professionally
Basic Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of experience in Data Engineering (or Backend with emphasis on data processing, Data Science with emphasis on infrastructure)
  • 2+ years of Team leadership
  • Business maturity: value prioritisation, long-term vision, efficient balance between strategy & tactics, work without frequent supervision
  • Ambitious in goal setting and passionate on delivering results
  • Superb communications & negotiations skills
  • English at an Upper-Intermediate level
  • Passion about Data
Your Tech-profile:
  • Cloud experience: GCP, AWS or Azure
  • Experience with data pipeline systems (Airflow, Luigi, or similar)
  • Experience with ETL, streaming or messaging
  • Experience with SQL
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience in development, testing, deployment, and assurance of the reliability of data-intensive applications
  • Good Understanding of Data Modelling (Kimball, Inmon, SCDs, Data Vault, Anchor Modelling)
  • Experience with Meta Data and Knowledge organization
  • Experience with BigQuery, Exasol, or Vertica;
  • Experience with Google Pub/Sub, Google DataFlow, Apache Kafka, Kafka Streams, Apache Flink, Spark Streaming, etc.
  • Experience with PySpark/Pandas/SciPy/NumPy/Sci-Kit Learn and other Python analytics tools
  • Experience with BI tools, e.g. Tableau
