We are looking for the Demo Engineering (DE) Manager to join our team. You will play an integral role in managing the daily activities of the Demo Engineering team (consisting of demo engineers and demo account specialists) and coordinate all activities between the DE team and other stakeholders (pre-sales, sales, product, etc.).
You will be responsible for assigning day-to-day work, leading recruiting efforts, and mentoring and developing new hires. The DE Manager ensures technical proficiency and professionalism within the team and ensures that ownership and accountability are cornerstones of the DE organization. This position will report into the Global VP of Sales Engineering.
GTM Collaboration: active involvement with GTM team to strategise and build materials proactively ahead of product releases for sellers to demonstrate the value of new product enhancements. Provide Sales Engineering (SE) enablement on new product features when necessary.
Leadership: taking an active role in creating career progression plans with the members of the team to ensure they are engaged in developing and progressing their personal career goals. This involves regular 1:1 conversations, quarterly goal setting and assessment of those goals and annual reviews.
Innovation: building processes and procedures to successfully implement a new function in the sales cycle. Monitor, measure, and implement change as required to ensure achievement of goals against agreed-upon objectives, sales targets and resource allocation in demo efforts.
Recruiting: recruiting and retaining top talent, developing those team members into solid contributors, and ensuring that they are progressively able to contribute to larger and more complex opportunities.
Contribution to the Sales Engineering (SE) Organization: Showing through example a collaborative approach to tackling new challenges. Motivate the DE team to think critically about how to overcome new obstacles and present creative solutions for enterprise growth.
Resource Allocation: monitoring incoming requests, making assignments, ensuring there is a balanced workload for all DE team members, and measuring contributions to justify effectiveness of DE team headcount.
Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent business or technical education
Previous experience in SaaS SE/DE work with progressively increasing responsibilities
Track record of building strategic vision for value-based product demonstrations.
Experience in coordinating with multiple stakeholders in the delivery of comprehensive demo plans and assets.
Knowledge of both complex enterprise sales cycles and rapid commercial sales processes.
Ability to track activities and highlight value of the DE team within the sales process and to the sales organization.
Demonstrated creativity in solving complex problems and a willingness to take ownership for resolving issues and building processes
Ability to let new team members experiment and try new things to build confidence and collaboration within the organisation
Engaged, bringing a positive attitude and able to prfioritize in a demanding sales and product environment
Ability to travel 25-40% (post COVID)
