What we're looking for:

We are looking for a Director of Field Marketing who will lead a team of marketers in Japan.

Position Summary

The prime responsibility is planning, organizing, localizing and executing integrated demand generation campaigns in order to grow pipeline contribution, closed won business and preference within the identified segments in the designated territory, in close alignment with sales leadership. This role will also be responsible for orchestrating the Demand Gen Council across all functions of the business.

This function will interpret global and APJ (Asia Pacific and Japan) sales and marketing strategy and translate that into marketing programs in Japan that drive results throughout the funnel.

Working closely with APJ marketing functions, area sales leadership, digital sales, enterprise sales, channel and services, this individual will execute a regional marketing strategy that build demand and helps drive revenue across the identified segments.

What You Will Be Doing

Managing the field marketing function in the following 4 key areas:

You will design, implement and manage regional marketing strategy & plan

  • Develop a strategic annual marketing plan and from that develop detailed quarterly plans for the territory fitting a 6 month view; the plans roll up logically into the quarterly area plans

  • Lead a team to develop and implement full funnel programs that cover demand generation as well as thought leadership

  • Manage the area marketing budget

  • Coordinate demand generation initiatives across sales, marketing, channels, services.

  • Rigorous planning and disciplined execution with a strong focus on ROI management

  • Accurate forecasting and insightful measurement of program performance

  • Adopt a data driven methodology in order to analyse results and course-correct as program execution unfolds

  • Manage local agencies and ownership of associated budgets. Contribute to the evaluation, selection and management of vendors that contribute to local demand creation programs including events venues and services and digital marketing agencies

  • Collaborate with the area team to drive integrated programmes across segments, leveraging corporate, APJ and regional assets

You will be leveraging demand generations through the marketing plan

  • Leverage Global and APJ developed programs to deliver local demand generation programs, generating leads and pipeline contribution against targets

  • Work with marketing operations and sales functions to define high potential market segments and market opportunities within those segments

  • Build and execute on an ABM strategy to further account penetration and growth

  • Work closely with local agencies to ensure that demand generation activities are focused, measured and drive results

  • Use digital marketing techniques to help drive positive conversations with prospects and customers

  • Develop reports and presentations to communicate campaign performance

You will be part of developing awareness and preference for Citrix and its solutions in the market

  • Work with relevant functions to define a target audience and drive activities to ensure that audience understand who Citrix is and what Citrix does. These activities will create recognition for Citrix as a leader & trusted partner and drive understanding of the Citrix value proposition

  • Collaborate with sales, pre-sales and other internal functions to drive full funnel programs designed to accelerate the sales cycle and increase opportunity sizes

  • Work closely with our corporate PR, social and communications team to support integrated campaigns and activities

What We’re Looking For

  • You have a clear understanding of how to position a product/solution in a competitive market

  • You demonstrate understanding of the various aspects of marketing

  • You are enthusiastic and well presented; excellent communication/presentation skills

  • You have strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to work effectively across functional areas/departments

  • You have ability to work independently, to make quick decisions; strong execution focus; eye for detail and able to work against critical deadlines

  • You are a great relationship builder, commercially astute and outcome focused

  • You have a demonstrable experience of working in a sales driven environment, and with the channel, to represent the company and its products/solutions

  • You are a strong team player

Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum BS/BA degree or equivalent, MBA is preferred

  • 10+ years of experience in sales and channel marketing within the High Tech industry, with at least 5 years experience working in B2B IT marketing, managing campaigns, projects and budgets in Japan

  • Previous experience selling and/or marketing Citrix products and services is desired but not required and have good knowledge of local Japan market

  • Prior working experience in software, virtualization and/or cloud vendor companies preferred

  • Experience in marketing program execution and ROI achievement particularly in lead and pipeline generation and acceleration activities
