You are an engineering manager with experience in leading and growing teams of individual contributors working with cloud services, implementing highly-available, performant and scalable SaaS solutions. You have a passion for improving processes, systems or products that solve complex problems, in order to enhance reliability and performance. You like using a data-driven approach to make decisions, provide directions and communicate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
Position Overview

As a hands-on engineering manager you'll be leading a team of cloud engineers in developing, deploying, improving and managing multi-cloud solutions that serve the needs of the company's SaaS offerings, and are based on best practices for availability, performance and security. You will ensure that team goals and objectives are clearly defined, as well as drive OKRs on a team level. To be successful in this role, you will be partnering with other engineering teams and stakeholders to make sure that the delivered services meet expectations and requirements. As a people manager, you have empathy and good emotional intelligence that helps you maintain a healthy, collaborative culture that promotes value creation.

Role Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of individual contributors and their ongoing talent development
• Establish technical directions and drive multiple technical initiatives
• Act as a technical expert to assist the team with problem resolution and technical solutions
• Contribute in the design of highly-available cloud solutions
• Develop, coach, mentor individuals and teams and ensure high performance in a fast-paced environment
• Work with product managers and other engineering leaders to build roadmaps for services and teams
• Use Agile development methodologies
• Communicate and work with teams across multiple geos
Basic Qualifications

• Demonstrated track record of leading effective engineering teams, delivering measurable results
• Strong software engineering background working with one or more languages
• Experience working in at least one major public cloud provider: Azure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Amazon Web Services (AWS)
• Substantial experience in building and operating a large-scale cloud service
• Experience working with Docker, Kubernetes and knowledge of its ecosystem
• Experience in building, coaching and mentoring effective teams
• Experience using Agile software development practices
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with computer networking and security principles
• Experience with highly-available systems
• Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) principles
• Experience with the SAFe framework
