What we're looking for:

As a Sales Engineer (SE) you will identify and match technology opportunities with our customers’ business needs. You will be responsible for maintaining critical customer and prospect relationships. In this pre-sales technical role, you will showcase Citrix Networking product solutions (Citrix ADC, Citrix SD-WAN, Citrix Gateway and Application Firewall).

You'll develops business value proposals centered on solutions. The SE drives sales with technical expertise, account leadership skills, sales ability and an outstanding customer focus. The SE is part of a sales team working to achieve or exceed revenue targets.

Summary:

This role will help to support the US Federal DoD Government agencies.

Primary Duties / Responsibilities

  • As a highly experienced professional in the field, uses professional concepts in providing primarily pre-sales technical support for Citrix solutions
  • Provides a leadership role within the sales teams in assessing potential application of Citrix products to meet customer’s business needs.
  • Having broad expertise or unique knowledge, uses skills to contribute to development of company objectives and principles and to achieve goals in creative and effective ways.
  • Share product knowledge, to provide technical expertise to the Citrix sales teams, channel partners, and customers.
  • Understands customer needs and works to overcome objections.
  • Performs technical sales presentations; product demonstrations; and product proof of concepts in order to technically close deals.
  • Actively leads the consultation of prospective users concerning product capability and validates that the technology meets the customers’ needs throughout the technical sales process.
  • Refines processes that impact selling success of Citrix Solutions.
  • Works on issues to improve product design to address future customer concepts or technologies.
  • Creates formal networks with key decision-makers and serves as external spokesperson for the organization.
  • Ability to maximize unions while working with Citrix end-user accounts on IT initiatives.
  • Called upon as an "specialist" in their geographic area for their area of networking and WAN optimization.
  • Occasionally provides leadership for more junior sales staff.
  • Establishes relationships and engages with the technical personnel to find opportunities and sell Citrix products and services.
  • Conducts product demonstrations and technical presentations whether remotely, at customer locations, or Citrix facilities.
  • Provides regular and efficient updates on assigned accounts to sales engineering management.
  • Ensures accurate and timely activity and issue updates in SalesForce.com and reporting to management.
  • Create and deliver technical product presentations and/or training sessions to channel partners

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Strong work ethic, demeanor and follow-through ability.
  • Ability to travel within assigned territory and other locations including Corporate HQ.
  • Possesses high-level of specialized sales and product solution knowledge.
  • Develop and manage relationships with technical resources at all levels of a customer organization.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of technical sales techniques and processes including the ability to understand customer needs, overcome objections, assist in the development of business cases, and technically close deals.
  • Able to articulate and understand the customer strategy and Citrix solution strategy to a technical level of detail for their technical area of focus.
  • Ability to diffuse complicated technical and political situations with partners and customers.
  • Experienced ability to motivate and train reseller partners in order to drive mind share and increase Citrix revenues within their assigned territory.
  • You have demonstrated capabilities in networking
  • Exhibits a positive attitude, represents Citrix to business partners and customers in the best possible fashion, and cultivates interest in our offerings.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 6 + years prior sales engineering experience in a high tech environment with a demonstrated track record of success in driving customer adoption of technology
  • Experience in working with large accounts and selling at higher levels of the organization
  • Ability to travel within assigned territory and other locations including Corporate headquarters

Preferred Qualifications

  • Application Delivery Controllers/Load Balancing, WAN Optimization, and/or Web Application Firewalls
  • OS background in LINUX, BSD
  • Basic SSL certificate understanding and DNS Records background

Pre-sales experience is required in any of these technology areas:

  • Routers and Switches
  • Wireless (Wifi 3G/4G/LTE)
  • Service Provider
  • Security (Web, Email, Content, Firewalls)
  • Data Center (Storage Virtualization, Virtual Switching
