What we're looking for:

You're a hands-on manager for a team of SREs applying modern DevOps & SRE techniques operating a large-scale distributed SaaS application across multiple clouds. 

You'll be well versed in a number of technologies and welcome new tools and techniques. We think you'll be able to work across multiple product/service teams to help build a unified operations organisation and you'll instinctively always be looking for patterns and ways to increase efficiency, eliminate downtime, optimise costs, and maintain performance at scale. 

You can manage and mentor team of engineers day-to-day as well as work with leadership teams on critical initiatives. 

We'd like you to provide hands-on technical expertise to design, deploy, secure and optimise Cloud services as well as drive improvements in technical architecture and standards/process to deliver the best customer experience.

Position Overview..

Citrix is rapidly developing and expanding its portfolio of large-scale cloud applications across all product lines, including app/desktop virtualisation, networking, and content collaboration. These applications must deliver enterprise-grade performance, reliability, and integration while leveraging consumer internet economies of scale in multiple clouds (and in hybrid scenarios that reach behind the enterprise firewall). This requires excellent architecture and dev-ops process in software development, operations, and site reliability engineering.

As an SRE manager, you will be responsible for one or more product SRE teams and the general engineering efforts for scalability, availability, security, and cost for that team. Your responsibilities will include setting team priorities and goals as well as engaging with product development teams to understand and support their needs and initiatives. Every cloud engineer is responsible for the availability, scalability, security, performance, cost, and compliance requirements of Workspace services.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Work across Engineering and Support teams to ensure Citrix meets its goals for service reliability, availability, and efficiency.

  • Drive architectural/technical service improvements.

  • Hands-on engineering manager who likes to code and perform analysis.

  • Ensure alignment and execution across Development, Support, and Cloud Operations.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Understands basic management approaches such as work scheduling, prioritising, coaching and process execution.

  • Requires a University Degree or equivalent experience, combined with prior relevant experience.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to drive outcomes from an Agile development team.

Preferred Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Software Engineering background with a passion for DevOps.

  • Experience in deploying and managing a multi-tenant, non-shared, instance product(s) in a SaaS offering.

  • Experience with deployments and operations of 24x7 high volume, highly available systems

  • Cloud scaling and automation experience.

  • Enjoy working with a large variety of services and technologies.

  • Demonstrate a proven understanding of development, debugging, administration and automation frameworks: C#/.NET, PowerShell, Python, Ansible, etc.

  • Experience with logging, monitoring and tracing platforms as well as application performance metrics such as DataDog, NewRelic, Splunk, ELK, App Insights Analytics, etc.

  • Experience with source control and continuous integration tools: Git/Stash, BitBucket, Jenkins, etc.

  • Experience with Windows and/or Linux Operating Systems.

  • Security and compliance experience (ISO2701 / SOC2 / FedRAMP / etc.) highly desirable.

  • Agile software development execution (Scaled Agile Framework - SAFe desirable).
