What we're looking for:

Citrix Digital Sales is a growing sales execution business at the heart of the Citrix EMEA go to market strategy. A team of 80 sales and business development reps engage in the MM and SMB segments solving client challenges in partnership with Resellers and Distribution.  As the Managing Director of Digital Sales, you will lead this organisation: formulating the strategic and transformational plan, developing the tactical actions and ensuring their operational implementation. 

You will manage Senior stakeholder relationships across EMEA and the WW GTM teams, balancing competing needs with the quest for consistent high performance.  You will be responsible for working with the WW GTM team to build the long-term development plan for both Digital Sales and the broader MM/SMB GTM motion along with the FSM and channel teams. Moreover, the subsequent execution, with a clear focus on innovation in the operating model and the creation of programmatic people development plans.  Your ability as a cross functional collaborator is therefore critical.

The Digital Sales team is a cornerstone of developing a vibrant and diverse workforce. This role is pivotal to ensuring Citrix EMEA continues to accelerate such talent into field-based roles. The successful candidate must be passionate about recruiting, developing and promoting diverse talent.

Reporting to the EMEA COO, you will be part of the EMEA leadership team, as such will be expected to drive discussions involving the growth in relevance and participation of Digital Sales within the overall Citrix EMEA business. 

The Role:

  • Lead a team of 80 including 7 directs and supporting staff across our two EMEA centres in Dublin and Athens. Whilst it is not expected that the successful candidate would need to be based in either location, frequent travel to both centres would be a requirement
  • Set the tone and be the figurehead of the Digital Sales organisation, create the vision and represent them confidently at EMEA leadership team meetings
  • Own the senior internal stakeholder relationships at AVP and line of business leadership level with a particular emphasis on collaborative engagement while maintaining consistency in the operating model
  • You will be expected to work closely with both the Channel, Shared Services and Area sales teams to ensure an aligned strategy and execution exists across MM and SMB.
  • Work with your team of senior sales managers to meet and exceed monthly, quarterly and annual team targets through operating excellence with focus on structured and disciplined sales execution
  • Engage with your peers across the globe to continue to evolve and develop the Digital Sales model through best practice sharing
  • Drive continued improvement in employee engagement with the implementation of programmes that support their individual and career development goals
  • Be visible and deliberate in promoting, developing and nurturing a diverse workforce
  • Promote a ‘One Team’ mentality through strong engagement with cross-functional leadership including the Citrix Channel organisation, Sales Engineering and Marketing to deliver high value programmes for sustainable revenue growth
  • Apply critical thinking and use of data to analyse trends and make informed decisions that improve performance in a rapidly evolving business
  • Ensure high-quality team performance through adherence to sales governance principles and KPI focus

Requirements:

  • You ideally have a bachelor degree or equivalent experience
  • 8+ years of sales leadership in a matrix environment is essential
  • 5+ years of Cloud and/or SaaS based sales experience
  • A proven track record of successfully leading large teams with a particular emphasis on people engagement e.g. eNPS
  • Familiarity with modern sales techniques and tools preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills, excellent written and verbal communications skills - ability to coach a team of experienced sales leaders and engage with demanding internal senior stakeholders
  • Superior leadership skills with the ability to enable high performers to deliver and motivate under-performers to improve
  • Experience, background and confidence to initiate and drive business strategy discussions with C-level executives and business decision makers around specific industry drivers
