Position Overview:

The Cloud Platform Engineer is responsible for providing technical assistance on centralized tooling, infrastructure and services that form the building blocks for optimization and continued maturity of Citrix’s engineering development practices. You will be responsible for developing software and providing hands-on technical expertise to design, deploy, and optimize Cloud services.

Role Responsibilities:

  • You will collaborate with Product Managers, Product Design, DevOps and Product Security teams to understand requirements for software development in a Scaled Agile environment. You will also design alongside a team of engineers focusing on 'design first' thinking while incorporating different end user personas.

  • Embrace and implement Agile development framework and methodologies (SAFe, SCRUM, Kanban, etc.)

  • Adopt and institute methodical coding standards (e.g. code reviews, logging and instrumentation, static/dynamic code analysis, code coverage, unit, integration tests) within the team.

  • Engage in continuous learning, both on the job and through available technical training, to develop knowledge and skills.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field; equivalent experience may be substituted for formal education.

  • 10-12 years professional work experience as a backend, full-stack, or DevOps engineer on cloud environments.

  • Expertise implementing, unit testing, debugging and integrating code of significant complexity.

  • Very good knowledge deploying, configuring and maintaining Kubernetes instances along with related services as service mesh, ingress controllers

  • Must be able to mentor and drive growth of junior and senior engineers

  • Experience with IaC using Terraform and/or Configuration Management using Ansible

  • Very good knowledge of source-control management concepts and tools.

  • Experience in automated testing, CI/CD concepts and methodologies.

  • Very good knowledge of Cloud Computing environments (Amazon AWS, or Microsoft Azure, or GCP).

  • Development experience with Cloud applications/services.

  • Knowledge of REST API development and 3rd party integration.

  • Very good knowledge of REST API development and 3rd party integration.

Bonus points for:

  • Experience with IaC using Terraform.

  • Knowledge of Javascript and familiarity with fronted frameworks like React or Angular and backend development (Golang)

  • Experience with logging platforms and application performance metrics a plus e.g. NewRelic, Splunk, App Insights Analytics.

  • GCP, Azure or AWS certifications.

  • Certified or knowledgeable with Scaled Agile Framework for Enterprise of SAFe.
