What we're looking for:

You are a Principal Software Engineer who will designs develop, test, troubleshoot and debugs complex systems software, with increased responsibility for leadership, ownership, and direction to others. You will be involved with planning and prioritization of activities to address product roadmap and strategic needs and collaborate with product management, technical architects, and cross functional teams. You will be expected to demonstrate the ability to multitask.

Job Overview:

This opportunity is for our Santa Clara location with Citrix Application Delivery & Security group that builds world's top performing Application Delivery and Security products with a wide install base of customers for on-premises and hybrid multi-cloud deployments. In this role, you will work with a team of software engineers on problems of high complexity and contribute towards designing and implementing large-scale features and solutions. The role is recognized as a hands-on specialist in one or more areas of the product; often acts as a Tech Lead working on variety of projects and issues, applying analytical and software engineering skills with both broad and in-depth understanding of the product and domain expertise.

Role Responsibilities:

  • As a specialist in one or more areas of the product, responsibly plans, prioritizes, organizes, and produce technical deliverables and artifacts, applying a wide range of product and domain experience and understanding of technologies.
  • Understand the product requirements and convert them into implementable functional and non-functional specifications, architecture, and software designs.
  • Following SAFe Agile methodologies and agile software development and CI/CD processes.
  • Implementation following secure coding practices and guidelines, code integration, unit and integration testing and test-automation, performing Quality processes, design and code reviews and proactive contribution to peer code reviews; debugging and QA.
  • As a technical lead, collaborate and coordinate product/feature definitions, it’s architecture, designs and development activities and any dependencies within the team and/or cross functional teams’ for end-to-end feature/product deliverables.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot issues in customer on-premises or hybrid multi-cloud environments and work with cross functional teams to support customer issues and escalations.
  • Communicating technical issues; assisting with technical specification and product documentation and reviews; assisting with sales/SE enablement activities such as product and feature trainings, webinars, blogs etc.
  • Help maintain code quality, organization, and automations.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent is a minimum requirement in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical field. A Master's degree is preferred.
  • 10+ Years of experience in software product development and life-cycle maintenance
  • Expert level C and Unix/systems programming skills with experience in TCP/IP networking and packet-processing
  • Expert level knowledge of SSL/TLS, OpenSSL library, Crypto,
  • Design and develop micro services at Cloud scale
  • Understanding and experience with Python, Object oriented programming with Python/C++
  • Advanced knowledge of concepts in operating systems, networking, and security
  • Experience developing high quality systems software for large-scale distributed applications, following agile methodologies, knowledge of version control systems (E.g., Git), bug management tools (e.g., Jira)

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • Performance/scalability measurement and optimization
  • Real-world product engineering experiences with OpenSSL, Crypto, Hardware accelerations and integrations
  • Product engineering experience with L7 application/api security/cloud security solutions
  • Experience developing software for public cloud environments such as Azure, AWS etc..
  • Good to have experience with Cloud-native projects (CNCF), docker, k8s
