What we're looking for:

As the Senior Communications Manager EMEA (one-year maternity cover) you will be responsible for planning, execution and measurement of all communications activities in the region, with a focus on the UK, Germany, France and the Netherlands. You will coordinate and implement an integrated communications approach (external communications, social media and analyst relations) for Citrix in EMEA across different disciplines and channels, working closely with senior management teams to ensure that all communications activities are aligned with business objectives. The successful candidate will be a member of the international communications team and will report to the Director International Communications.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Shape profile of Citrix in EMEA through innovative and proactive thought-leadership campaigns that support our business goals and priorities
  • Manage agencies in the UK, France, Germany and the Netherlands to ensure focus on relevant news and thought-leadership content to drive consistently high-quality media coverage across the region
  • Proactively engage with regional leadership teams as appropriate to understand trends, challenges and major priorities for the business 
  • Be the strategic adviser to regional sales and marketing management teams in all communications matters
  • Operate as main point of contact for journalists, agencies and internal stakeholders
  • Proactively engage with the global communications team to stay up to date and provide input on all relevant launches, news, initiatives, etc.
  • Monitor & share results and relevant industry news with the regional management teams
  • Develop and execute regional analyst and influencer relations programs in alignment with global business strategy
  • Develop press materials, review and edit long and short form content, including bylines, blogs, and social media posts
  • Manage local regional social media activities: including Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn
  • Partner with our customer reference team to share customer stories externally
  • Be a trusted partner to our executives and other key internal stakeholders throughout EMEA
  • Management of crisis communications throughout EMEA

Qualifications (knowledge, skills, abilities) and Requirements (Education, Certification, Training, and Experience)

  • Very good understanding of all communications disciplines: external communications, analyst relations and social media
  • Strong knowledge of and interest in IT and technology
  • Ability to work independently under pressure, managing suppliers and several projects simultaneously
  • Strong writing and editing skills.  
  • Positive, ‘can do’ attitude and problem solving skills
  • Ability to think ‘out of the box‘ and trial new formats
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills


  • Degree in journalism, public relations or communications or equivalent experience
  • Existing professional relationships with journalists from top tier IT and business publications
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and build relationships inside and outside the organisation
  • Working experience in an international environment
  • Minimum of eight years of experience in communications (corporate or agency)
  • Five-seven years of high-tech communications experience
  • Willingness to travel
  • Fluent in English
  • French, German or Dutch language skills not required but would be a bonus
