What we're looking for:

Position Summary:

Citrix is rapidly developing and expanding its portfolio of large-scale cloud services across all product lines, including app/desktop virtualisation, networking, and content collaboration. These services must deliver enterprise-grade performance, reliability, and integration while leveraging consumer internet economies of scale in multiple clouds (and in hybrid scenarios that reach behind the enterprise firewall). This requires excellent architecture and Dev-Ops processes in software development, operations, and site reliability engineering.

This opportunity is within the Application Delivery & Security organisation, which builds the world's highest performing and secure Application Delivery Services/Products. In this role, you will work within a team of software engineers on themes and components of medium to high complexity in our Cloud Application delivery services.

As a Senior Infrastructure and Cloud Operations Engineer you will be responsible for the design, development, validation, deployment, sustenance of infrastructure, pipelines, and features on our cloud services. You will work with Developers, Architects, Product Managers, and other key stakeholders, to design and implement functionality critical to our business success.

Responsibilities:

• Interact with PMs, Product Owners, Architects to clarify objectives and requirements

• Performing technical work, applying modern software development methodologies

• Drive design and development; perform code reviews; implement automated unit tests; debug and integrate code

• Drive infrastructure design & development, with IaC principles; define and automate CI/CD pipelines; define and continuously evolve infrastructure life-cycle management processes and automation

• Collect, prioritise, analyse cloud infrastructure requirements across multiple stakeholders and teams, leverage Citrix Cloud expertise and patterns, synthesise best of breed infrastructure designs

• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features

• Follow agile methodologies and adhere to development best practices like test driven development, code reviews as well as relevant documentation of implemented features and implementation and testing of high performance, resilient and secure cloud services, and tools

• Communicating technical issues; assisting with technical specification documentation and review

• Coordinating own development activities and engaging in continuous learning both on the job and through technical training to enhance technical expertise

Qualifications and Requirements:

The position requires a Software Engineer professional with 3+ years of related work experience in Infrastructure and Cloud Operations; or a holder of an MSc or higher degree in Computer Science (or related discipline) with a specialisation directly relevant to our product lines.

Essential requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field; equivalent experience may be substituted for formal education.

• Knowledge of source-control management concepts and tools

• Be familiar with one or more cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP) or in large-scale SaaS on any platform.

• Have a wide range of knowledge areas, including some of the following:

  • Health – Have a solid understanding of the MELT concepts and why observability is so critical in cloud systems.

  • Application Hosting – Identify the advantages of the various patterns to host applications (Kubernetes, Docker, FaaS) and have the theoretical background on when to leverage each pattern.

  • Security – Understand how critical security is and how to apply security and connectivity between, into, and out of cloud services.

  • Delivery – Is familiar with the concepts that are related to delivery of cloud native applications and resources and has the knowledge how to do this reliably and without downtime.

  • Databases – Have a good understanding of the different database types and libraries and when to leverage each type.

• Provide common solutions to multiple teams by identifying and addressing patterns in infrastructure and applications.

• Promote and contribute to best practices in library usage.

• Work with your team and other development teams to contribute to the development of scalable, robust systems using cloud native architecture principles.

• Have exposure to systems or applications at scale.

• Experience developing high quality software, following agile methodologies.

Desirable attributes

• Experience in automated testing, CI/CD concepts and methodologies.

• Development experience with Cloud applications/services.

• Knowledge of REST API development and 3rd party integration.

• Exposure to systems or applications at scale.
