What we're looking for:

You are an experienced Senior Networking Systems Engineer for our Network Operations team. You are responsible for the operation of the Global Citrix network, both wired and wireless. You serve as the Lead Network Operations Engineer in a large global enterprise. You are responsible for providing Tier 3 operations, including network configuration, implementation, and maintenance support. An experienced candidate will identify, resolve network issues, and proactively monitor the health of the global WAN / LAN infrastructure and services.

Position Overview:

In this role, you will be a Lead Systems Engineer who is part of the Network Operations Team within the Global IT Organization.

Note: This role assumes hybrid work where you might be required to travel to and be available in our Santa Clara office as and when needed.

You will be diagnosing and troubleshooting internal technology issues. In addition, you will be identifying, prioritizing, and confirming the resolution of reported problems. You will ensure that all phases of support are properly coordinated, monitored, and tracked. In this role, you should be able to propose, design, and implement enhancements to improve security, performance, and reliability. You will also develop, refine, and document administration policies, processes, and procedures and ensure SLA compliance. You will participate in project planning, cost analysis, and vendor comparisons.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Deployment, configuration, maintenance, and monitoring of Cloud, LAN and WAN networks.
  • These responsibilities will require a working knowledge of the following technologies:
    • IP Protocols (ICMP, TCP, UDP, DHCP, and DNS).
    • Cloud Networking in AWS/Azure/GCP environment.
    • Routing Protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP).
    • Ethernet (STP, dot1x, VLANs)
    • VXLAN and Spine-Leaf architecture
    • Cisco ACI
  • Responsible in participating of design, advising, and creating tools that automate, monitor, and scale cloud networking infrastructure.
  • Operate and support Citrix ADC and SD-WAN products.
  • Troubleshooting problems and identifying effective resolutions and workarounds.
  • Monitor network performance, and connectivity using tools such as Cisco PRIME, WhatsUp Gold and similar.
  • Respond to tier 3 support requests regarding network issues. Work as a team, resolve and escalate issues, and return services to end users as quickly as possible. Provide appropriate updates during outages or periods of degraded performance.
  • Perform routine maintenance and upgrades of network hardware components.
  • Capacity planning for LAN / WAN services to ensure consistent performance and cost efficiency.
  • May require 24x7 on-call participation on a rotational basis.
  • Develop and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Responsible for making improvements of processes, systems, or products to enhance the performance of the job area.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years of prior relevant experience; or a master’s degree with 3 years
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with Cisco switching and routing products (ISR, ASR, Nexus, and Catalyst product lines)
  • 2-3 years of hands on experience with cloud based deployments
  • Knowledge of Citrix networking products, including NetScaler ADC and SD-WAN
  • Prior experience and ability to work with Cisco ISE system
  • Awareness and understanding of AAA platforms such as Radius and/or TACACS
  • Basic Unix/Linux and/or Microsoft Windows sysadmin skills
  • Able to work independently under limited supervision
  • Ability to work and team effectively with clients, management, and staff members in a multi-tiered, fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience working with Cisco DNAC is desirable.
  • Automation and coding skills are highly desirable. Python / JAVA / REST knowledge is a plus.
  • CCNA and CCNP certification is a plus.
  • Cloud networking certifications such as AWS/Azure/GCP are desirable.
  • SAFe Agile 5.0 certification is desirable.
