What we're looking for:

Position Overview:


In this role, you’ll lead a development team of 6 people part of Citrix Access Security organisation. You will ensure goals and objectives are clearly defined and engineers participate in the product discovery phase. Help partners produce estimates and drive OKRs on a team level.

This role would suit either an experienced manager of high performing software development teams, or a very proficient technical lead who is excited to take on a management responsibility. You’ll need to have an engineering background as your main goal will be focusing on product feature delivery, partnering with product and engineering partners, but most importantly empowering the teams to drive their scope and understand the bigger picture.

Collaboration is crucial for this role. Together with other stakeholders you will build, adjust and roll-out processes to support a growing team (delivery, product focus, feedback, scaling, and team organisation). As a Software Engineering Manager, you have empathy and emotional intelligence - this will help you maintain a healthy, collaborative culture, passionate about driving value. You will be actively involved in hiring engineers, making sure the team is well-staffed.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Lead your teams’ delivery pipeline and be a professional at helping teams prioritise goals.

  • Establish technical directions and drive multiple technical initiatives.

  • Problems and issues faced are complex and may require understanding of broader set of issues. Problems typically involve consideration of multiple issues, job areas or specialities.

  • Communicates with parties within and outside of own job function, which may include external customers.

  • Develop, coach, mentor individuals and teams and ensure high performance in a fast-paced environment.

  • Explain policies, practices, and procedures of the job area to others within the organisation.

  • Foster a culture of innovation, enthusiasm, and job reward.

Basic qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of Managerial or team leading experience.

  • Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and prior relevant experience.

  • Knowledge and experience with agile development methodology

  • Understands basic management approaches such as work scheduling, prioritising, coaching and process execution.

  • Supervises a team consisting of professionals, typically at the entry or mid engineering level.

  • Leads, directs, and reviews the work of team members to accomplish operational plans and results.

  • Demonstrated track record of leading robust teams with measurable outcomes.

  • Great leadership skills. You are an empathetic leader that can coach and mentor engineers to improve their potential.

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • Background in Development of Cloud Microservices (C, C++, C#, Go-language, Python)

  • Confidence in one or more public cloud providers (Azure, AWS, GCP)

  • exposure to container technology (e.g. Docker) and container orchestration systems (e.g Kubernetes)

  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

  • Ability to provide and receive constructive feedback.

  • Requires knowledge of hardware platform architectures, reverse engineering, and low-level debugging.
