What we're looking for:

Citrix, as a premier cloud company, enables mobile workstyles. Citrix is rapidly developing and growing its portfolio of large-scale cloud applications across all product lines, including app/desktop virtualization, networking, and content teamwork.  We are pioneering new ways to connect people and information on-demand from anywhere in the world. With the rapid evolution of both the workplace and workforce, our aspiration is to create a seamless continuum between work and life so that our clients are free to work wherever, whenever, and however they choose. Our technology is built on the idea that everyone should be able to work from anywhere, at any time, and on any device.

The company has been able to prosper for so long because it has always put the customer first and has continually innovated bringing new products and capabilities to market. The present is no different than the past except the scale of the change that the company is going through now is orders of magnitude greater than in the past. We are executing a multiyear strategy to go from a provider of enterprise software to that of a company that provides cloud-based services to businesses of all scale. A company that delivers software on an annual basis to that of one that delivers software on an hourly basis. We are transitioning from a company that targeted a subset of the users within an enterprise to that of one which provides high-services to the majority of users within the enterprise.

Citrix is canvassing the world looking for a few senior-level software engineers to execute the vision that we have developed. These technical leaders would cut across departments and operate at a solution level ensuring that our products can be brought together to provide a seamless, highly extensible system.

Roles/responsibilities

  • Own the technical integrity of new cloud services and clearly articulate the strategy to enhance architectural runway, maintain quality and improve supportability.
  • Conceive, architect and prototype information analytics algorithms that will intelligently put forth highly relevant recommendations to the end-user that are contextually and locality aware
  • Ensure the security architecture and implementation of the system is industry-leading
  • This is not a PowerPoint position. We expect someone in this position to get their hands dirty, write code, blaze trails, innovate constantly
  • work closely with our key customer partners to realize the vision that has been developed by incrementally delivering services that enhance productivity, increase security and approved by the delightful user experience
  • Visionary - drive new technology awareness across entire engineering organization (~2K engineers)

Qualifications

  • 12-15 years of experience building complex enterprise scale software. (if you have no war stories, you have not developed enterprise software)
  • Recognized internally and externally as a subject matter expert in cloud software development and distributed systems
  • Must demonstrate strong analytical and strategic thinking. Must be able to show how they have used data to drive product decisions and how those decisions pave the way for future success
  • Must have developed and led multiple cloud services projects, hopefully some that are currently in production
  • Strong communication skills: willingness to initiate conversations across organizations in order to ensure that all parties are on the same plan
  • Strong presentation skills: comfortable presenting in front of hundreds of people at a technical conference or in front of the Executive Leadership Team (ELT)
  • Influencer - ability to “bring others along” because they respect your ideas, your integrity and your desire to win
  • Experience operating in an agile development environment as a member of a scrum team
