What we're looking for:

You are a specialized Application Packager who can create and maintain packaged applications and scripted configurations for remote and on-premise Windows and Mac endpoints via SCCM / Intune for Windows and Jmaf MDM for Mac.

Position Overview:

As a Staff Systems Engineer, you will be part of the End User Devices team and responsible for creating application packages and advanced scripts for deployment to Windows and Mac computers as the sole primary SME. You will be involved with the planning and prioritization of design and implementation activities to achieve key business outcomes. You will be expected to demonstrate the ability to be flexible, and have a strong work ethic requiring little direct supervision as you will be the sole SME for application packaging on the team.

 Role Responsibilities:

  • Windows scripting and packaging experience using tools such as Install Shield, AdminStudio and WISE Package Studio
  • Experience with VB Scripts, Wise Scripts, PowerShell and Batch Script for customizing applications.
  • Experience creating packages for Microsoft Intune
  • Mac scripting with Bash / ZSH
  • Must understand packaging for MacOS platform
  • Mac - must understand how to manipulate XML/Plist via a scripting language
  • Experience with package/application patching for a MDM (Mobile Device Management) platform.
  • General experience with Intune helpful
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate ideas clearly and simply

Basic Qualifications:

You will have Bachelor's or Master’s degree in computer science or related fields.

You will have at least 8-10 years of hands-on experience with Windows scripting and packaging experience using tools such as Install Shield, AdminStudio, WISE Package Studio.

Creating packages for Microsoft Intune and packaging for MacOS platform.

What are the key characteristics that would make you an ideal candidate:

  • Must be a self-starter, collaborative, and should showcase thorough ownership in each phase of application packaging.
  • Probing and gathering all information about applications and endpoints.
  • Creating scripts and application packages, QA testing, troubleshooting, and coordinating deployments.
  • Communicating to users, executing the upgrades, and tracking the success /failure results will be key as well.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills are expected required for determining the root cause and remediation of failures.
  • The candidate must have strong organizational and excellent communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of SCCM is a plus.
