What we're looking for:

We're growing our research team under the Product Design organization. We're looking for a passionate UX Principal Researcher to help take our product experience to the next level. Our ideal candidate advocates for users and leverages data to improve our product experience, loves problem solving, and is a strong collaborator.
 

Responsibilities:

  • Delivers impactful research solutions that considers the business goals, broader product strategy, and company visions

  • Works with UR/UX/PM Leadership to define the appropriate discovery approach to identify the problem space/opportunity for innovation & artifacts to help inform system design to optimize the user experiences defined

  • Through research, builds a knowledge base that positions yourself as a thought leader and subject matter expert user research methodologies and Citrix domain, while educating stakeholders on why and how research decisions are made

  • Collaboratively work throughout the product lifecycle with teammates and stakeholders to problem solve and offer solutions

  • Help identify research education opportunities for the UX org or cross-functional partners

  • Actively contribute to the UX research team's strategy, process, and culture

  • Drives research initiatives with other researchers and cross-functional partners for product features

  • Research projects are a mix of problem and solution validation, as well as qualitative and quantitative strategies.

  • Researches and conceptualizes experiences that align user and business objectives

  • Leverages tools such as strategy blueprints, competitive analysis, user profiles/personas, scenario mapping, and alignment diagrams (like experience maps), analytics to shape the holistic information architecture, usability, and interaction design of holistic experiences

  • Facilitate studies, synthesize findings, and share recommendations peers, designers, and other stakeholders

  • Occasionally travel to customer sites or project workshops as required to conduct research and collaborate

  • Leads and mentors other Researchers

  • Knows how to apply a range of research methods and know when to balance between running scrappy or with more rigor

  • Finds yourself staying current on methods and industry trends and are excited to share info and try things out

  • Proactively anticipate issues, communicate, and provide solutions for them

  • Can effectively prioritize work when juggling multiple projects and stakeholders

  • Loves educating and mentoring others about research and strategic research approaches

Basic Requirements:

  • Has 8+ years of applied experience with the user-centered design process and research methods across the product life cycle (e.g. user testing, task analysis, Heuristic Evaluations, 1:1 user interviews, field studies, focus groups, diary studies, and surveys

  • Has 5 to 8+ years’ experience with the business workflows domain or product space - and a portfolio that reflects UX/CX product and digital strategy experiences (including qualitative and quantitative analysis, test methods, impacts, and outcomes)

  • Finds complex domains and ecosystems a fun challenge and love trying to simplify the user's experience with design and cross-functional tams

  • Demonstrated experience translating and prioritizing business strategy, requirements,  and user goals with creative strategy to approach research projects that the organization rallies around

  • Works collaboratively across products, disciples and departments (CS, Marketing, Sales) to ensure the experiences get realized through programs/activities

  • Has extensive experience with facilitation, moderation, and interviewing customers and prospects for research analysis and aggregation

  • Advocates for user-centered design and enjoy teaching others about different research methods, including when, how, and why to use them

  • Demonstrated deliverables or case studies that effectively communicate, advocate for, and socialize actionable insights in a clear and compelling way

  • Identifies ways to improve team efficiencies (e.g., processes, tools, methods, and so on)

  • Effectively prioritizes overall research efforts. Align with section Directors, VPs, and C-level executives while considering impact, type of research, the broader product vision, and company objectives

  • Has experiences mentoring researchers, or managing User Researchers, and where relevant Usability Specialists

  • Has Advanced Degree in human computer interaction, design, UX/CX, cognitive science, psychology, information science, computer science, communications, or digital strategy experience

Preferred:

  • Familiar with SaaS or enterprise experiences
