What we're looking for:

We are looking for a bright, enthusiastic individual who enjoys working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment to join our Field Sales Engineering team as a Manager of Sales Engineering focused on Networking based in the Western United States.

Position Summary

The Manager of Sales Engineering leads a medium-large team of highly specialized technical sales resources whose goal is to support the Sales organization for all pre-sales customer engagements. The Manager of Sales Engineering is also responsible for driving the professional development of their Sales Engineering staff, including recruiting, mentoring, training, and performance evaluation. 

Primary Duties / Responsibilities

  • Lead pre-sales technical resources in order to optimize sales and revenue volume. Partner with senior level sales management to help set the sales strategy to ensure forecast objectives are met via diligent SE to sales cycle engagement.
  • Perform key functions to recruit top-notch sales engineers including interviewing, hiring, monitoring, employee feedback and documentation, counseling and coaching, and performance management / improvement when needed. Help identify staffing needs.
  • Assess skill sets and provide ongoing coaching and feedback to team members in order to meet objectives, reinforce sales methodology and provide guidance on career path direction. Implement personal development plans for individual team members.
  • Facilitate communication within internal team and channel sales, product management, and engineering. Help identify cross-functional needs and processes. Effectively escalate issues to Product Marketing, Sales, Partners, and Field Readiness as necessary throughout the sales cycle.

Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities)

  • Experience in direct selling of complex technical business solutions in the enterprise space and strong understanding of business drivers for Line of Business solutions within enterprise organizations.
  • Self-motivation, self-management and professionalism with advanced organizational, negotiation, problem solving skills and team building skills.
  • Advanced level of specialized sales and product solution knowledge and a solid understanding of Citrix competitive domain and technologies.
  • Proven technical and tactical problem solving skills and experience with complex engineering designs. Must have the ability to explain complex ideas and schemas and train sales engineering team.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft architecture, networking, Active Directory (ADC), DNS, routing, switching, SDN, desktop and server virtualization, terminal services, VPNs, etc.
  • Ability to travel within assigned territory and other locations including Corporate HQ - 50% travel

Requirements (Education, Certification, Training, and Experience)

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of successful sales engineering management experience is required.
  • 5+ years of systems engineering or IT consulting management experience in the following areas: Load Balancers, Routers and Switches/ Core Networking, Security (Web, Email, Content, Firewalls), Data Center (Storage Virtualization, Virtual Switching).
  • The following certifications are beneficial but not required : Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification, CCDP or similar vendor certification Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE), Citrix Certified Enterprise Engineer (CCEE)
