In October 2021, Citrix announced a major partnership with Google to enable distributed work environments that require fast, simplified, and secure access to applications and workspaces from virtually anywhere.
Citrix will be launching a new Desktops-as-a-Service (DaaS) offering on Google Cloud and as part of this joint development effort, Citrix will build a fleet of cloud services starting with a Citrix purpose-built control plane that will enable desktops hosted on Google Cloud to deliver any application to any end point device.
We are looking to appoint an engineering manager to lead a DaaS development team in our Cloud Engineering group based in Greece. We believe you will be a natural leader able to encourage and mentor impactful individuals as we develop distributed cloud native applications on Google Cloud.
As a hands-on engineering manager you'll be guiding and mentoring a team of backend developers and site reliability engineers building the DaaS product on Google Cloud. You will take the lead for:
Hiring, coaching & mentoring engineers to build high-performance engineering teams
Working with principal architects to design cloud native services and ensure the development of those within the desired budget and time.
Working with product managers and senior engineering leaders to build a roadmap for the team and implementing to meet the planned objectives for the year.
Managing OKRs & team priorities whilst supporting outstanding standards of development and operations.
Leading the development & operational processes within your team to deliver cloud services running under desired Service Level Agreements.
What do you need to be successful in this role?
A passion for building secure, scalable infrastructure & cloud services on either Google Cloud, Amazon Web Services, or Microsoft Azure.
You will need deep experience in a software development role, and:
Engineering management experience leading two or more agile teams of software engineers.
A background in design, architecture, and development of cloud native micro-services in Python, Go, C#/.NET, or, Java/Spring/J2EE technologies on GCP, Azure, or AWS, preferably with PaaS (platform as a service) or serverless architectures.
A track record of running technical deep dives, design & code reviews, and managing micro-services running on the above software stack.
Demonstrated knowledge of key industry standard technologies for Orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.), CI/CD (Jenkins, TeamCity, Spinnaker), IaaC (Ansible, Terraform, etc.), Logging (Splunk, Datadog, etc.) and APM/Monitoring (Grafana, ELK, New Relic, etc.).
Experience working in lean-agile development methodologies, preferably SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework).
General skills and qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering or Information Technology or equivalent experience.
