What we're looking for:

In your role as Application Delivery & Security Sales Specialist you will be part of a Focus Team , and primarily prospect for new business with a direct customer engagement. You'll also work with Citrix Solutions Advisor (CSA) partners on a joint customer engagement, to drive sales into end user accounts.

As the Application Delivery & Security Sales Specialist, you will specialize in the Application Delivery Infrastructure & Security Solution subset of the Citrix product line, and work closely together with the Account Managers & Territory Managers within your assigned Territories.

Your primary focus will be on the Mid Market, Education & Healthcare Customer Segment in Germany Public Sector Sales.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • You will be responsible for all aspects of the sale, including Prospection & Discovery Meetings, Pipeline Creation, Development of Sales Opportunities together with our Sales Engineer Resources & CSA Partners, and successful closing.

  • Managing weekly forecasts against revenue targets and working closely with inside sales counterpart(s) to manage the pipeline and set appropriate monthly and quarterly revenue expectations using Citrix-defined CRM and forecasting tools.

  • Partnering with sales and service organizations and IT business executives within corporate environments.

  • You are able to position and sell Citrix products against competitive products.

  • Typically you will be responsible for small to medium sized accounts, and/or a small to medium-sized quota/territory.

  • Well versed in setting appropriate monthly and quarterly revenue expectation using Citrix defined CRM and forecasting tools with demonstrated competency.

What would we like you to have?

  • Strong knowledge of sales techniques and processes including the ability to understand customer needs, overcoming objections, return on investment analysis, closing the sale through appropriate procurement vehicle (shrink wrap, licensing, etc.)

  • Ability to apply a thorough knowledge of Citrix products

  • Knowledge of complementary hardware and software solutions

  • Excellent oral and written communications skills, as well as excellent presentation skills

  • Strong work ethic, attitude and follow through ability

  • Ability to travel up to 50% within assigned territory


  • Bachelor, Technical Degree or equivalent

  • Experience with sales in the Line of Business Government/Public Sector markets

  • Prior territory sales experience in a high tech environment in an indirect or direct sales and procurement environment, with a demonstrated track record of success in driving customer adoption of technology

  • Solid understanding of networking, security and WEB applications. High availability networks, Load balancing and dynamic routing protocols.

  • Specific experience with selling & positioning ADC- and Security Solutions is a plus
