What we're looking for:

You are a senior site reliability engineer who knows how to apply engineering principles to operations. You are well versed in a large number of technologies and welcome new tools and techniques. You work in conjunction with fellow developers and operations members to come to the best possible solution. You are always looking for patterns and ways to increase efficiency, eliminate downtime, optimize costs, and maintain performance at scale. 
If you have 3-5 years of experience with working with Engineering public cloud systems, and have a passion for SRE and DevOps, we’d love to speak with you!  You will work on a team of talented engineers responsible for designing, developing, optimizing, and extending the Citrix Analytics big data platform.
Position Overview: 
Citrix is rapidly developing and expanding its portfolio of large-scale cloud applications across all product lines, including app/desktop virtualization, networking, and content collaboration. These applications must deliver enterprise-grade performance, reliability, and integration while leveraging consumer internet economies of scale in multiple clouds (and in hybrid scenarios that reach behind the enterprise firewall). This requires a strong team of dedicated Site Reliability Engineers who work to build an autonomous cloud that is secure, available, high performance and meetings compliance guard rails all while maintaining optimal costs (COGS).  

Role Responsibilities:

  • Improve the Security, Availability and Performance of the systems while managing Cloud Costs and maintain Compliance guardrails.
  • Build automation using industry tools (like Jenkins, Ansible, Spinnaker, etc) to deploy hundreds of different services.
  • Participate in On-Call and identify issues and drive them to resolution and conduct blameless RCA.
  • Extend the Citrix Analytics platform by researching and applying new big data technologies and stacks to solve business problems.
  • Maintain the Citrix analytics platform by diagnosing, predicting, and correcting scaling problems.
  • Work with large streams of data and technologies like Spark, Hadoop, Kafka, and Cassandra.
  • Contribute to our team’s growing set of development platforms, tools, and processes.
  • Build automation and tools that will increase the productivity of teams located in different GEOs.


Basic Qualifications:

  • Requires a Computer Science Degree or equivalent education and minimum 3-5 years of relevant work experience. 
  • Scripting in PowerShell/BashShell or Python Programming.
  • 3-5 years of SRE/DevOps experience with public cloud service.
  • Strong CS fundamentals, with good demonstrated experience of troubleshooting problems and driving them to resolution.
  • Experience with container technologies: Kubernetes, Docker 
  • Have industry experience providing hands-on technical expertise to design, deploy, secure and optimize Cloud services 
  • Experience working in an Agile team and employing Scrum practices. 
  • Enjoy pushing scalability to the limit with high throughput services 
  • Design solutions with failure in mind to ensure reliability 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prefer to build automation to perform redundant tasks rather than manually handling toil 
  • Enjoy working with a large variety of services and technologies 
  • Like looking through metrics and logs as if it were a treasure hunt 
  • Avoid logging into servers directly and prefer using automation and aggregation to manage them
