What we're looking for:

Introduction:

In October 2021, Citrix announced a major partnership with Google to enable distributed work environments that require fast, simplified, and secure access to applications and workspaces from virtually anywhere.  

Citrix will be launching a new Desktops-as-a-Service (DaaS) offering on Google Cloud and as part of this joint development effort, as part of this partnership, Citrix will develop the required services and microservices that will handle and allow our Desktop as a Service to function within Google and offer a GCP native experience to users. 

We are looking to appoint a senior software engineer to be part of the incredible DaaS development team based in Greece. The team has a great mix of software development and cloud engineering skills, and we believe you will be a powerful addition to the team as we develop micro-services applications on Google Cloud.  

 

Responsibilities:  

 

  • Work with architects, product owners, and other engineers to design, develop and release cloud-native services on Google Cloud infrastructure.  
  • Adopt and institute methodical coding standards (e.g., design & code reviews, logging, code instrumentation, static & dynamic code analysis, code coverage, unit, integration tests) within the team.  
  • Develop knowledge and enhance skills in secure software development, cloud-native architecture, and continuous releases.  
  • Embrace agile development frameworks like SAFe.  

 

What do you need to be successful in this role?  

 

  • Previous experience with object-oriented programming, micro-services design patterns, and/or cloud design patterns to build fault-tolerant & distributed platform services. 
  • Previous experience building micro-services on Google Cloud, AWS, or Microsoft Azure.  
  • Experience in software development in one or more of the following languages: Python, Go, or C#/.NET. 
  • Experience in secure coding & threat modeling of REST-based web services. 
  • Experience with CI/CD tools, dockers and/or Kubernetes, and logging & monitoring tools such as Splunk, Datadog, Grafana, New Relic etc. 

 

General skills and qualifications:  

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Information Technology or equivalent experience. 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.   
  • Ability to work well in demanding environments and collaborate effectively with a wide range of people across multiple geographies & cultures. 
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
