What we're looking for:
 

We are looking for a highly motivated Senior Accountant within our Revenue Recognition Accounting department. Reporting to the Manager / Sr. Manager of Revenue Recognition, this role will be integral to performing accounting tasks, top deal package preparation, and maintaining standard operating procedures.  Remote Opportunities Available.

Primary Duties / Responsibilities

  • Performing technical accounting research on revenue recognition related topics.
  • On a monthly basis, prepare deal package support for Company’s top transactions, including proper revenue recognition conclusions. 
  • Perform month-end close processes, including agreement review, account reconciliation preparation, and preparing/posting journal entries for revenue related accounts and contra revenue accounts.
  • Document and maintain relevant policies and standard operating procedures.
  • Design & monitor process controls and oversee testing in compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX).
  • Work through accounting implications and confirm we can operationally support business agreements.
  • Provide revenue accounting guidance to Deal Desk, Product and other cross-functional teams.
  • Build strong collaborative working relationships with internal and external teams with a focus on driving efficiencies and improving levels of service.
  • Identify opportunities and implement programs to centralize, eliminate, automate or send out activities to BPO partners.
  • Participate in key projects and initiatives as SME to ensure team and departmental requirements and objectives are met.
  • Maintain an understanding of the company products and programs (new and existing) relative to their impact on revenue transactions and the application of ASC 606

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance required
  • CPA (or regional equivalent) highly preferred
  • Minimum 5 years if working experience (could be combination of Big 4 experience and private industry)
  • Advanced Excel Skills
  • Experience executing in a dynamic, high speed and demanding environment by demonstrating organizational, interpersonal, communication, problem solving and prioritization skills.
  • Demonstrated experience of data analysis, problem solving and solutions development.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a cross-functional global environment and building lasting business relationships.
  • Experience with automation programs (e.g. Alteryx, Tableau).
  • Experience thinking strategically and connecting the end-to-end process to the strategy of the business.
  • Experience driving change and improving the end-to-end processes with a proven track record in business process re-engineering and systems analysis.
  • Experience with ASC 606 revenue recognition.
