What we're looking for:

You are an experienced ServiceNow developer with strong analytical skills and experience in ServiceNow ITSM, ITOM and ITIL Business Process solutioning. You will work on CMDB implementation and business service mapping and integrate with third-party discovery tools. You will work with the business, and functional team and translate requirements into scalable and secure solutions.

Position Overview:

As a ServiceNow Developer, you will be responsible for the analysis, design, test and implementation of ServiceNow solutions within ITOM and ITSM modules. You will work on CMDB implementation and business service mapping and integrate with third-party discovery tools. You will work with the business, and functional team and translate requirements into scalable and secure solutions. We are looking for developers with strong communication and problem-solving skills. You will be involved with the planning and prioritization of design and development activities to resolve a wide range of issues. You will be expected to demonstrate the ability to multitask; work on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of application development, including design, coding, debugging, testing, troubleshooting, and documenting systems, query optimization, and report-writing.
  • Maintain, enhance, and expand existing CMDB discovery and related integrations.
  • Maintain, enhance, and expand existing event management capabilities and related integrations.
  • Maintain, enhance, and expand existing service mapping and related impact assessment rules and dashboards.
  • Identify, recommend, and pursue opportunities to increase automation directly and indirectly.
  • Continually research new ITOM capabilities afforded by upcoming releases and make recommendations.
  • Ensure overall systems availability via good design/best practices, thorough testing, promotion discipline and responsiveness in root cause analysis.
  • Provide subject matter expertise on ServiceNow platform architecture, tools and systems engineering to other IT and business teams 
  • Analyzes requirements, and maintains, tests and integrates application components 
  • Ensures that system improvements are successfully implemented 
  • Contribute to a ServiceNow roadmap that plans out investments in system maintenance, upgrade schedule, system improvements and additions to the ServiceNow ecosystem that aligns with the longer-term goals and objectives of IT and the enterprise.
  • Follows and improves architecture, design, technical documentation, and coding standards for assigned applications and services
  • Participates in and works with platform team to ensure proper quality assurance is completed related to unit, system integration, regression, and user acceptance testing
  • Design, develop, and configure workflows, flows, forms, scripts, ACL’s, data transformation, policies, rules, scheduled jobs, and all other underlying logic using Agile methodologies

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree (BS) in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field or equivalent working experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Strong technical foundation and knowledge of the ServiceNow platform and architecture
  • 2+ years’ experience maintaining and troubleshooting ServiceNow CMDB and Discovery implementation(s).
  • 2+ years’ experience maintaining and troubleshooting SN event management and related experience with CMDB binding.
  • 2+ years’ experience maintaining and troubleshooting SN service mapping (new/custom patterns) and impact assessment rules on more recent versions of the platform.
  • Development skills in scripting, business rules, data imports, ACL’s, data policies, UI policies, data import and transformation, logging, error remediation, data encryption, flow designer (including Integration Hub spokes), notifications, SLA’s, metrics, database views, assessments, forms, workflow, and language translations
  • Knowledge of database design schemas and data modeling including ServiceNow’s Common Service Data Model (CSDM)
  • Outstanding communication skills, both oral and written
